Lute bead |
I love trollbeads. I like the way there's so many of them and you can collect the ones that really speak to you. I like the way they seem to favour fairytale themes and old Danish traditions. And I love the name. Troll in Danish is not just a work for an ugly old brute. It also means magic, a bit like fairy dos in English. I like the way that makes British magic seem etherial and delicate, where Scandinavian magic is earthy and heavy. Solid.

Magic Lantern. The storyteller lights the way |
I also love that they have competitions to let their fans submit designs.
This year I am submitting three designs that all very much says storyteller to me. I'd like to think of myself as a modern day bard - I tell stories with my writing, my illustrations and by making computer games.
