Transfering Images

I've been playing with transfers and found these printable decal sheets from Lazertran.
All you do is inkjet print your image, wait 30 minutes, soak it till the backing comes off and then place it right on the domino. The glue already on the decal was enough to make it stick. 
I have put the image on the dot side and really love the way you can see the eyes through the image.

Mermaid Necklace

I'm still playing around with mini dominos. For the centrepiece of this necklace grabbed a digital version of my mermaid painting and cropped it down to size.
Using my own art was the reason I got into dominos in the first place, so I am really pleased with this one.

Playing with Settings

It's always fun to think about different ways to frame the game pieces, I think.
I've been looking at youtube videos of how to wire wrap a gemstone, but my attempts have been a bit sad.
As soon as the wrap isn't completely symmetrical it looks like a bodge job, and if its deliberately really random, then, well, same result.

But if I keep it very simple, just one length of wire all around and then maybe more of a flourish at the top, then it looks much better.

Only thing is, that it won't be as secure as a wrap around, but I think I have fixed that, by giving the tiles tiny grooves in the corners to keep the wire in place.

This is the finished painting of an earlier post. I gave her real jewellery. She looked like she wanted it.
The little hanging pendants are decorated mini dominoes.

Dominos for Christmas

Jewellery for the tree!
Though not actually having Xmas motifs, I think this works as a tree decoration. Somehow vintage and Christmas go well together, don't you think?

Jewellery musings.

I got interested in jewellery design, simply because I had altered my first dominos, they needed a setting, and the whole area opened up in my mind.

New intriguing words like bails, findings, eyepins and gage sizes, and off I was down on that path, exploring to my hearts content.

But I’d like to get back to some domino designs. Because really, I wanted to have that centre piece that contained some of my own artwork. So while I love this new path that’s opened up, I will take a step back and investigate one thing more thoroughly. I am always getting distracted by new wonderful things.

Anyone else feel the same?

New double tile designs

Still playing around with different versions of the tile pendants. They are such fun to make.

I've been using Rangers Glossy Accents to seal the tile, but it doesn't go quite as hard as I would like. I might try Judikins Diamond Glaze instead. Does anyone know if it dries harder?
